I recommend that you use the QuickBooks move to new machine feature under File>Utilities>Move QuickBooks to another computer if you have 2019 or later.

- Do you understand the importance of setting up **items** (the products or services you buy and/or sell) correctly, what they are, and how they are used in the program?
Answer: It is how you track your income and expenses and is part of the workflow in most accounting programs.
Do you understand how to use them to track both income and expenses and for job costing?
Answer: They have to be two-sided items to track your purchases or expenses and income from sales. It also allows you to record your expenses for items you later resell.
- Has your bookkeeper recently left and you'd like a **second opinion on how to manage your bookkeeping** system and to review what they did? Want to test the next one you plan to hire? I can provide tests through a professional group that I am a member of.
- Is your " **undeposited funds**" account growing each day?
Answer: It may be because while you are receiving your payments, you aren't depositing them as a group into your bank register to match with the downloaded bank feeds.
When you run a profit and loss report, does is say your income is double your sales?
Answer: Usually that is caused by recording your sales using invoices and payments and sales receipts but accepting the bank feeds or transactions against an income account instead of using the proper workflow of depositing them into the bank account and later matching them.
- Is your **sales tax payable account increasing** each month?
Answer: You may not be recording it in your sales forms as a liability or writing a check against sales tax payable or recording it to an expense account
Do you know the **proper way to pay sales tax** in the program?
Answer: You should run a sales tax liability report and pay it under the vendor drop down menu for sales tax after adjusting/adding for your Washington State B&O taxes
**Do know why you should track the sales tax paid to vendors for products and services that you later resell**?
Answer: Apply for a resale certificate to reduce the workload instead of having to track your purchases so you can offset your paid sales tax.
Do you know how to pay your state B&O tax correctly when you pay your sales tax?And it isn't by just writing a check.
Answer: You adjust or increase your sales tax liability by adding an adjusting expense against Taxes Paid to account for it and increase sales tax payable so it matches your report.
- Does your **A/R and A/P seem too low or "wrong"**? When you take a customer deposit, do you simply receive a payment?
Answer: If you apply the payment to A/R, it reduces your A/R. The proper method is to apply the payment to a customer deposits or retainer liability account "customer deposit received" or CDR so you don't count it as income and pay tax prematurely and then subtract it or apply it "customer deposit applied" or CDA when the final invoice is created. The two items are mapped to the same account. CDR is positive while CDA is negative to apply the payment.
- When you run a profit and loss report, does it agree with your bank deposits and customer sales?
- Have you s l o w l y come to the realization that you **don't know how to use your financial accounting and bookkeeping software** and it is affecting your bottom line, your relationships, and your sleep?

- Is your **company file s l o w to open or respond**? Does it take f o r e v e r to start, load reports, and process transactions?
Answer: You could not have enough memory, need to repair the program, reinstall the program, have less than 15% free disk space, exceed the maximum file sizes (100 MB Pro, 150 MB Premier), using slow WiFi or old Cat 5 100 MBps cabling instead of Cat 5e/6 or higher if networked, an older computer, or not being backed up regularly and correctly as you want to clear out the .TLG file (go check it in your company folder. It should be 4 KB after backing up).
- Do you know the **proper way to backup your company file**? And no, copying it to an external hard drive or online "backup" such as Carbonite or Mozy isn't a good idea.
Answer: You should switch into single user if others access the file or you are networked, and make sure you back up completely in options and verify data and do it weekly (I do it whenever I close my file). Also, test a backup once a year.
- Have you wondered if using the **online banking** or bank feeds feature is a time saver when reconciling your bank and credit card accounts?
Answer: Yes, once you set up your vendor names including assigning default accounts to them (it is in the vendor set up) and bank rules, my clients find that their workload is reduced.
- Would you like to **find out how much you earned from each customer or job and how much you had to spend to earn that revenue**?
Answer: You can run a profit and loss report by customer as well as estimate vs. actuals and other reports like unbilled charges. It does help job costing if you are using QuickBooks payroll to track both EE and ER payroll costs.
- Does the thought of spending time doing the financial side of your business send you into a depression or make you overeat?
- **Would you rather make more money doing what you do best** rather than dealing with the Castor Oil of paperwork?

#### What I Can't Do
While I am able to **solve about 99% of my client's problems or teach them**, there are some that I can't. So I can't make any guarantees.
I can't guarantee that I will be able to fix your problems or teach you if they are due to the built in limits of your accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management software, operating system (for example, current versions of QuickBooks and Quicken work on Windows 11 or 10), financial institution, how you use third party software or hardware, exceeding the program limits of your program, network configuration, computer hardware such as not having enough RAM to run current versions of your programs, other computer software, or not having any of the previous updates to the latest release, version, or driver or your computer crashes, or expecting the program to do what it isn't designed to do.
I also sometimes can't fix issues when a client is not prepared for me or won't provide a company file to examine, screenshots of issues, and PDFs of problems. That means I expect you to have a working computer, keyboard, and mouse, Internet, sit or stand patiently as I explain and take notes, be up to date in your operating system, Microsoft Office if you have it, Intuit software, have current antivirus and malware software, and have sent me a list of what you want to accomplish at least 24 hours before I come out and have any additional agenda items printed for me. I appreciate having a glass of water handy at our working area as I do talk a lot.

The process started with a call for nominations, of which 270 were received from 65,000 eligible candidates, then a scoring based on multiple factors such as current ProAdvisor status, number and quality of Intuit certifications (I have all of them including the difficult to obtain Advanced Certification which less than 11% of my peers have earned as it requires being certified in the last three years of QuickBooks products), years certified in Intuit products, and number and rating of client reviews and finally an open vote in which over 2,000 of my peers voted. After all of this was completed, Intuitive Accountant staff compiled the scores and I was one of the 100 who earned this award including three others from the Greater Seattle area.
I can also provide bookkeeper, QuickBooks, and controller tests at no charge to my clients to use to test prospective employees.

I also have QuickBooks Pro 2006 that I use to convert my PC clients using antique, err I mean older (2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 6.0 and earlier) products to more current QuickBooks software versions running in Windows 10 or 11 (my experience is that one needs to use 2006 as a bridge from 2005 or earlier) as the database structure changed from a flat database to a relational).
I like using the new Quicken mobile app to record my personal and business expenses when I am in the field on my Android dumbphone and iPad or Android tablet when I am traveling.

And as for the question you've been wondering while you were reading this (very long, detailed, and informative according to some clients, a sleeping pill to others) web page, investing in my remote skills is on an **hourly basis for $250 with a two hour minimum** and quarter hour increments rounded up thereafter (e-mail okay) based on my experience as an **Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor** in both desktop and online (less than 11% of ProAdvisors have earned that dual distinction), certified in 19 years of QuickBooks products including the new Intuit Enterprise Suite for companies with multiple entities and complex reporting, with over 25 years of experience using QuickBooks overall, and **additional voluntary certification in Intuit's Client Advisory Services, Point of Sale (POS), Payroll, and Enterprise software** (fewer than 5% of ProAdvisors are certified in all of Intuit's products) and my knowledge from helping others like you.
**Training can be for up to two persons from the same company or household at this hourly rate**.
I reserve the right to require more time if I feel that your problem or the issues that you need to be solved require that additional time so you can **learn how how to fi$h for yourself** (or make Tofu if you are a vegan, smile), the freedom to **sleep at night**, and count dollars instead of sheep.

Or you can pay me $2,995 and get one year of **unlimited e-mail (preferred), phone, and remote support, help, training** in using the programs and one-on-one classes for each person using one company file in any version of QuickBooks or up to two people residing in the same household using Quicken.
One thing I do is allow my clients and I to try each other out and then apply that first or second session to that annual fee if we both agree that it would be a good fit and choice financially. However, I do not offer this special until I have worked with you.
**Direct accounting or bookkeeping help, state or federal tax preparation or advice, payroll, credit card processing, and third party applications or providers are not part of this "unlimited" special as those last three providers provide their own support and the purpose of this special is to show you how to use your program and not do your work**.

#### Cancellation Policy
**Cancellations** **with less than 72 hours of telephone and e-mail notice and not rebooked at that time will be subject to a charge of one hour ($250)**.
The reason for this is when you book your appointment, I then tell other clients I am not available at that time and some go elsewhere because they have an urgent issue. I then lose money if you don't follow through. You expect me to show up. So do I.
Because I believe in customer service, I am available evenings and weekends if you work during the day. I am sometimes willing to travel throughout Western Washington State. **Same day appointments are sometimes available**. References gladly exchanged.
Post service support by e-mail (preferred as I frequently find my clients solve their own problems when they write down their issues or problems) or telephone assistance is billed out in quarter hour increments.

You can **spend 12 hours of unbillable time** learning (maybe) how to do it yourself. Or you can **have me come over for a quarter of that time** and use my specialized knowledge, skills, training, and advanced certification to bring my one-on-one class and customized training to you to help, support, and train you in QuickBooks or Quicken.
That means **you now have 8 hours to spend making money**. I don't repair my car, sew my own clothes, or fix problems in my condo. I hire people who know more than I do to fix my problems and do it in less time.

#### How I Expect to be Paid
**Payment is expected at the time of service** either from the company whose company file I am working in or the person hiring me who can be reimbursed by their company. A Receipt for Services will be e-mailed to you.
Unless I know ahead of time, I charge a $25 invoice preparation fee if I have to wait for your payment. I do understand that some companies require an invoice before making out a check and can waive that fee with advance notice. I just need to know your procedures.

• However, if you choose to cancel after the first 60 days and prior to the end
of month 12, you will be subject to a termination fee equal to the total amount
of monthly payments left on your annual subscription.

integration solutions. When you choose to add-on the CRM connector to your
Enterprise Diamond subscription, a DBSync representative will handle the
set-up. You’ll decide how you want to map your fields and data. Then, you’ll use
Enterprise’s robust user permissions to choose who can see what data.

## Salesforce and QuickBooks
## • Do we need to have Salesforce for the CRM connector feature to work?
Yes. At this time the feature only supports Salesforce. Supported
versions include Salesforce Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited.
## • What if we don’t yet have Salesforce, but plan to get it in the future?
Once you have Salesforce, we can enable the feature. You can add
the feature at any time if you already have QuickBooks Enterprise
Diamond.
## • Where do I buy Salesforce?
You can purchase it here: www.salesforce.com
## • Does my Salesforce have to be reconfigured? No.
## • Will we get billed or charged from Salesforce?
**No. Under Salesforce's current partner developer terms, Salesforce
does not charge a fee for this type of integration.**
## Feature, Setup, Syncing and Controls
## • Can I choose what data to integrate between QuickBooks Enterprise Diamond and Salesforce?
Yes. During the setup process, you identify what information you want
synced.
## • Does this feature support bi-and uni-directional sync?
Yes. This feature supports bi-directional and uni-directional
integrations.
## • How frequently can the system perform a sync?
To ensure optimal performance, we recommend the data is synced no
more than once every 15 minutes.
## • Can recurring invoices be synchronized from Salesforce to QuickBooks?
Yes, with additional customizations. The setup team can provide you
with design and requirements.
## • I don’t want my sales or customer service teams to have access to data unrelated to their needs or job function.
With user permissions, you control who has access to what data.
## • Who provides the CRM connection?
Intuit has partnered with DBSync for the CRM connection. They are a
leading provider of data management, replication, and application
integration for CRMs. DBSync enables users to easily link information
between leading cloud and on-premise applications. They have been
a Salesforce partner since 2007.
## • What charges can I expect?
This feature bills as a monthly subscription. There is also a one time
setup charge.
## • Is there any special infrastructure needed?
There is no infrastructure or local installation needed. This feature runs
from the cloud.
## • Who does the setup?
DBSync does the setup. You will work directly with them to determine
what setup package meets your requirements.
## • My business is unique and complex. Can we customize the integration to meet our needs?
Yes. You can customize the mappings to meet your business needs.
## • How long will it take to install and set up the CRM connector?
Installation of the CRM connector with DBSync takes anywhere from
under an hour to a few days, depending on the complexity of your
data, service availability, your schedule and other factors.
## • Does my organization need training for CRM connector?
DBSync provides training based on your needs. Training will be
discussed during setup and included in one of the chosen setup
packages.
## • How many company files does 1 CRM connector support?
The CRM connector supports many company files, but each
subscription supports one file. The initial subscription will be
purchased from Intuit but companies may purchase additional
subscriptions directly from DBSync.

be eligible for CRM connector. CRM connector subscription supports one company file per subscription; limited
to one subscription purchased from Intuit. Your account on file will automatically be charged the then current list
price on a monthly basis, starting at sign up, until you cancel. To cancel your CRM connector subscription at any
time call 1-800-4-intuit or contact your account manager. Your cancellation will become effective at the end of the
monthly billing period and your subscription will terminate at that time. You will not receive a prorated refund; your
access and subscription benefits will continue for the remainder of the billing period. Cancellation or termination
of QuickBooks Enterprise Diamond will result in termination of CRM connector subscription. CRM connector setup
is required and is provided by DBSync. Various setup packages are available. Pricing varies depending on the
package chosen. For setup pricing, to purchase additional subscriptions, or for general DBSync billing questions,
